Let's Tell Our Story

Remember the days of old,
Consider the years of all generations.
Ask your father and he will inform you,
Your elders, and they will tell you.
Deuteronomy 32:7 NASB

This chapter of Deuteronomy is often referred to as the song of Moses and was delivered shortly before his death. Today's passage was meant to remind the Israelites of their rebellion, Moses also reminded them of God's goodness. In today's verse, he declared that all they had to do to learn about God was to ask their ancestors. If they followed Moses' instructions, they would find that the Lord is "a faithful God, without bias, He is righteous and true"(v.4,NASB). This brings the following question to mind, "Are we doing our job of passing down stories of God's faithfulness to the generation following us?" Part of our Christian journey should be testimonies of God's goodness that we pass on to our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and anyone that will listen. We may see the Deliverance of the Israelites as worthy of them sharing their testimonies with future generations, but we have the same God who delivered us, cares for us and provides for us as well. We should always be ready to tell our story about the goodness of God!
