Faith In Prayer

Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24
This verse comes after the disciples witnessed that the fig tree Jesus cursed withered, just as he had said it would. Jesus proceeded to tell them that they too could do the same by speaking the word in faith. Faith is the essential component in our relationship with God, for we walk by faith and not by what we see.  Our faith is built on the truth of the Word of God, and the Word of God has been more relatable and effective today, just like it was 2000 years ago. God is true to his promises, and he knows what we need even before we ask of Him. So when we pray, we must pray with confidence knowing that our Heavenly Father hears and answers us when we pray. This is not positive thinking; belief is the faith in what Jesus says which comes from abiding in Him and His Word. When we abide in Christ as His word abides in us, we begin to pray for what God wants and not what we want or desire. God wants the best for all his children, spiritually, physically, financially, maritally, academically, in the career sector, and so many other areas of our lives. This is because His desires become our desires. Therefore, when we ask, we ask according to His will (the will of God are his promises in the word of God) and we believe that we have received it and it will be ours. We cannot go wrong when we pray to the Word of God!
